Best Super Bowl Car Commercials of 2014
Much like year’s past, car commercials during this year’s Super Bowl were both hit and miss. In an effort to make it easy for you to find some of the best Super Bowl car commercials of 2014, we have compiled all of them right here on our blog. There were a lot of good ones this year, but we thought we would save you some time by only providing you with the top three Super Bowl car commercials.
This year Chrysler went with an approach similar to last year’s “Imported From Detroit” ad, but used Detroit-native Bob Dylan rather than Eminem. The result was yet another powerful ad from the automaker which explains that you can import a lot of things, but you can’t import American pride, and that’s something that you will find in every Chrysler vehicle.
There were a lot of automakers who took a more serious approach with their commercials this year, but Kia was not one of them. They hired Laurence Fishburne, better known as Morpheus from the Matrix, and went with the whole red pill blue pill aspect, but rather than pills, they used keys. It was a clever way to showcase their brand new 2015 Kia K900 for the first time, and seeing as Morpheus sings an opera song, it comes in at number two for our top three Super Bowl car commercials.
Similar to Chrysler, Jeep also went with a more serious approach. It was another one of the more powerful Super Bowl commercials this year that really helped to show all that Jeep is made of. Entitled “Restless,” the ad describes restlessness as an itch, then explains what exactly they mean by that. It shows clips of adventurous people doing adventurous things, then wraps with the extremely powerful line: “Where you go when you have the itch is free will. How you get there, is why we made the new Cherokee.”
There were a lot of great ads this year, but if you had to ask us, we would have to say that out of all of them, these three were the best Super Bowl car commercials of 2014. They really helped showcase not only the new cars being offered by the automakers, but the brand as well. It’s for that reason that we have chosen them as the top three Super Bowl car commercials for this year.
